Celebrating Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month

May is Asian American Pacific Month. During the entire month, I will be featuring Asian Americans that have contributed greatly to our society and to our identities. I’m looking to highlight the diversity of people, their accomplishments and to really show that there are no limits in living the American dream.

A big feature of this relaunch is to also add an education component so that parents, caregivers and educators can have resources to use, and that best reflects our community. Often growing up I felt left out as the one of the few children that when it came to representation in literature, I just felt left out of the imagery of what it meant to have grown up as an American, or even just as an adult. Each week in May, I will launch a new set of free activity sheets that will revolve around certain professions and highlights of people that have succeeded in that area. These sheets are meant to be informative and yet fun!

Thank you AAPI healthcare workers

For the first week of May, we are featuring our healthcare workers. Many Asian American have aspired during their educational pursuit to be in the medical field. If you look especially in the large metropolitan areas, the Asian community is in force standing together on the front line. However, no one could ever have imagined that this academic pursuit has now transformed them into the super hero status that they have achieved during this global crisis.

We are indebted to you!

We are joining also joining the #18millionthanks campaign, where we are writing a personal thank you notes to the amazing 18 million healthcare workers in the US. You can go to the shop to download your free activity sheet on Healthcare workers and for more information about the hospitals that are accepting these notes. Or you can go directly to https://18millionthanks.com.
